Albert Elkus (1857-1949) was the son of pioneer Sacramento business man Louis Elkus (1826-1904) and father of noted musician Albert Israel Elkus (1884-1962). Albert Elkus served two terms as mayor of Sacramento (1921-1925) and served for 23 years as a director of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, which he helped to organize in 1923.
